Lipo-Dissolve

Lipo-Dissolve was first introduced in France by Dr. Michel Pistor in 1952. It became such a popular procedure for a variety of ailments and conditions that by 1987, it was recognized by the French National Academy of Medicine. Today, there are more than 15,000 registered Lipo-Dissolve technicians in France and it is an approved course of study in most European medical schools.

One of the pioneers recognized as bringing Lipo-Dissolve to the United States is Dr. Lionel Bissoon, a physician who has practices in New York, California and Florida. It is Dr. Bissoon who is known as the leading advocate for this therapy.

Dr. Bissoon has said that Lipo-Dissolve, over the course of 10 sessions, blocks a patient's ability to store fat and stimulates the patient's ability to burn it up. He said doctors can target specific areas of fat by injecting a blend of medications directly into a specific area of the body. He said the fat winds up in the muscle where it is used for energy.

Medications that have become fairly common ingredients to the recipes are well known such as aminophylline (an asthma medication) and lidocaine used in very small doses directly into a fatty area at a depth of roughly 4 mm. The medication is surrounded by combinations of vitamins, saline and other filler ingredients.

Results vary from patient to patient. It is very personalized. It depends on the care the patients take following the procedure: Are they exercising? Are they continuing to carefully monitor their diet? These microinjections are one of the safest procedures that can be done in a medical office. It is one of the safest procedures that can be classified as minimally invasive.

The cost for this procedure in Dr. Pickens' office is $450.00 - $1,000.00 depending on the areas treated and number of treatments required. Because of its expense, it is performed only on those who are willing to make a 3-10 session commitment. Lipo-Dissolve has similar results to liposuction without the invasiveness.

A look at liposuction: It is a surgical procedure; removes fat cells; cannot be used where there is cellulite; there is a variable down time; have to wear restrictive garments afterwards for weeks; significant bruising and pain.

A look at Lipo-Dissolve: Non-invasive procedure; removes fat from fat cells; used wherever there is cellulite; no down time; can be combined with Synergie; wear loose clothing after treatment; minimal bruising and pain.
